Technical requirements
To ensure a smooth and effective learning experience when attending Zoom lessons with SkyTree Japanese School, please check the basic technical requirements below:
1
Hardware
1
Computer, laptop or tablet: A desktop computer, laptop, or tablet (such as an iPad) is recommended. These devices offer a larger screen and more powerful capabilities compared to mobile phones, which may be less ideal due to their smaller screens. Ensure your device is capable of running the latest or recent versions of operating systems such as Windows, macOS, or iOS.
2
Webcam: An integrated or external webcam for video communication. This is essential for participating in live classes and interactive sessions.
3
Microphone and speakers: Built-in or external microphone and speakers for clear audio communication. Headphones or a headset with a built-in microphone are recommended to reduce background noise and echo.
2
Software Requirements
1
Zoom application: Install the latest version of the Zoom desktop or mobile application on your device. Keep it updated to the latest version for the best performance and security.
2
Web browser: Use a recent version of Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, or Microsoft Edge to access the course materials and links provided by the school.
3
Internet Connection
1
Stable internet connection: A reliable broadband internet connection is required. Higher speeds may be needed for better video quality.
4
Other Preparations
1
Test your internet connection speed.
2
Ensure your operating system and all required software are up to date and compatible.
3
Check that your microphone, speakers and webcam are working properly.
4
Familiarise yourself with Zoom settings, including how to mute or unmute your microphone and turn your camera on or off.
5
Attend the lesson in a quiet, well-lit environment.
Meeting these basic technical requirements will help ensure that you can participate fully in your online language course, making the learning process both effective and enjoyable.
